I hear Leviticus may have got sundon pits,but no updates on the net.
Well if this is true I celerbrate with this song,Not original by billy but still a Classic English Tune.

As I understand it, we haven't "got" Sundon Pits as of yet. What we have done identified it as a perfect site for a veriety of community projects, very much akin with what Leviticus, and Exodus before, want to do. We have expressed our interests to various parties, including the land owners, and have had vairing levels of response. Some groups think it is a wonderful idea, but others may be concerned it conflicts with their own agendas. We have begun the process of building a proposal to show to these groups the benifits of opening up the site far outway the issues, but we want to be sure the plans are watertight before we make them fully public. That said, if anyone wants to contribute to the process of planning and costing everything, feel free to bring themselves, and their skills to one of our regular meetings, any positive input will be gratefully recieved. We do plan to hold some sort of event on the pits site before the end of 2010, exactly what that will be is still being ironed out, and will obviously depend apon the response of the "powers that limit the free" (sorry, powers that be) but don't worry, you can get a convoy of 200 cars from Woodside to the pits in about 10 minutes, so I'm sure something interesting will gwan.

So nothing has changed since 2008,But an info pack is being put together & some talks have been held.
I mean no disrespect just trying to get a clear picture of the situation.

We have changed as a crew since 2008, back then Sundon Pits was not really an option, but we have tracked down the owners and made contact. We have approached the Wildlife trust involved, and have started a group on Facebook to coordinate voluenteers a bit, but as far as the physicality of a Free Spirit party happening, you could easily say we are no further on than we were in 2001. I know that those I have spoken to about it would rather wait until the situation is right to do this, rather than rushing into it, and letting few people "carry" all the work, so what this really needs is positive involvement, to gather the energy, I know you meant no offence, but statements like "no further than a year ago" won't help this get off the ground. A workplan exists, if you want to get your name down on it, most jobs have a name next to them, but the more the merrier I recon.

I like how you explained the true situation of the collective,but as far as change,I can only see that since Acendzion stopped doing illegal dances and Leviticus formed,There is no intention of doing illegal dances,Because,yes we want to go legal,but also a few that are heads of the collective are involved in some legal aspects of community life.
I guess Its not good to take a peace of land for 15 hours then take the sound back to the quite legal storage place where the masons have a hold over the communal space & ability's.
There is no central meeting point like the mannor where a non violent Battle can commence to party as protest.
I guess we can only work with what we got.I am not waiting for god to do anything.

Our Intentions are to facilitate a space free from discrimination and profiteering where people can dance under the stars, til the dawn. If there is massive unfair obstructions then we will be fourced to go down the route of Illegal gatherings. When the time is right, that will happen, and we all know from experience that the levels of organization and motivation go up. Free the Spirit 2000 was a good example of that, a relatively small crew worked their arses off for a week solid so that 25000 odd people could come and have a fucking top quality blow out, and not care about the runnings of the festival. Everyone relaxed a bit because we didn't have old bill to unite against, and things got too hard for some. So if people think that it's taking a bit of time to get it up and running again, then remember that some people are once bitten, twice shy, and will not put ourselves back in those stressful vunerable positions purely for the enjoyment of others, when there is an easier way, once enough people realize this, and put the pettyness aside, we can move forward together, in unity again. This time it is not an Exodus, that journey is done, now it is time to make comfortable our new home. Some travellers need to rest up and let the youngsters build our new home.

Remember Exodus applied for a licence when they started doing parties in 1992, they just refused to pay the exstortionate costs at the time. Those days have changed, so have we.
